About Us

The Traylor Team is a husband and wife real estate team, consisting of Hart and Vanessa Traylor! We have a combined 25+ years of real estate experience here in the Columbia and surrounding Midlands market!

PROFESSIONAL

Hart has been a licensed agent since 2010, and Vanessa since 2015. Our licenses have been at Paul Properties since 2022.

In 2009 Hart helped his friend, Charlie, start The Mather Company. The Mather Co. officially closed in 2019, but during that time Hart served as Vice-President and oversaw a variety of things. He worked with buyers and sellers, managed home renovation projects for both investors and homeowners, and oversaw daily office life by training and helping the 20+ agents who hung their licenses at The Mather Co. He also served as President over their property management department.

In 2015 Vanessa got her license in order to work alongside Hart, and The Traylor Team was officially formed!

In 2022 we started our short-term rental property management services. And that same year we moved our licenses to Paul Properties.

We love working together and believe that our strengths complement each other very well, making us a great team!

PERSONAL

We’re both natives of the Midlands (Hart grew up in Forest Acres and Vanessa in Gilbert). We met at USC (go Gamecocks!) in 2005 and got married in 2008.

We have 3 wonderful sons, and love building memories together as a family, including annual trips to Pine Cove Chimney Point family camp, and beach trips to the Carolina coast! We are also active members at our church, Mill City Church of Cayce (come visit some time!) In our spare time, Hart enjoys playing music and keeping up with Gamecocks football, basketball, and baseball, as well as the Minnesota Vikings and San Antonio Spurs. Vanessa enjoys design and DIY projects, as well as gardening. And we love cruising around our neighborhood in our golf cart!

CANCER SUPPORT

Our middle son had two forms of cancer when he was 2 years old and underwent a bone marrow transplant in 2016. In 2018 we had a scare, as it appeared his body was rejecting the new bone marrow, however, the Lord did a miracle, surprising the doctors, and he ended up not requiring a 2nd transplant! In 2025 it was discovered he had a rare form of cancer in his hip, so we have been walking this cancer road again. We are hoping and praying Jesus will deliver him once again.

Because we are well acquainted with the cancer road, we are committed to contributing a portion of our commissions each year towards organizations for pediatric cancer research, treatment, and care. Below are some of the our favorite organizations we love to support. Please consider supporting them as well!
